A 'Sterling'Selection
Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Nana Gracilis'
This is one of the best of all
the conifers in the world! With irregularly upright growth habit and very
beautiful, dark green compacted foliage, its no wonder this is so desirable.
The name is often confused with C. obtusa 'Nana' or 'Nana Compacta', but it is easily distinguished by the rate of growth, which is about 30 to 36 inches
in ten years. This rate qualifies it for the dwarf category and it never
needs pruning. It has been around since 1863 and is very popular for use in
todays smaller landscapes.
