H1   Hardy to -20 to -25° H2   Hardy to -10 to -15° H3   Hardy to 0 to -5° Large H1 ‘BOURSAULT’ Here is a compact grower with lilac flowers. Will grow to around 6x6’ with a upright habit. Compact H2 ‘CHIONOIDES’ This one is a dense compact grower that has dark leaves. The flowers are white and it is a late bloomer. It will grow in full sun and develop a nice mounding habit. Medium H2 ‘CUNNINGHAM’ This white flowering Rhodi is a medium grower that will grow to about 5x5’ in 10 years. Needs some shade. Upright H1 ‘ENGLISH ROSEUM’ This sport of ‘Roseum Elegans’ has a nice pink flower that blooms late. It has an upright habit with large leaves and is also more compact than ‘Roseum Elegans’. Large H1 ‘GRANDIFLORUM’ This vigorous upright grower has lilac-purple flowers and will become 8x8’ or larger with age. Large H1 ‘NOVA ZEMBLA’ Here ia a very hardy, durable, upright selection that takes full sun. It has bright red flowers and wavy, textured leaves on a vigorous heat tolerant plant. Large H1 ‘ROSEUM ELEGANS’ This selection is a large vigorous grower with a upright rounded shape. Will grow to over 8’x10’ and can take full sun. Hybrid Rhododendron Small H1 ‘AGLO’ This little-leaf Rhododendron has small dark green leaves that turn burgundy in the fall and winter and also has nice peach pink flowers. It blooms one week later than ‘PJM’ and will grow to about 3x4’ in 10 years. Med-Large H1 ‘FIRESTORM’ This hybrid Rhododendron grows upright and rounded with dark green lusterous leaves. The dark red flowers appear with the new frosted lime green leaves for a great contrast. Medium H1 ‘HAAGA’ This wonderful selection is from the University of Helsinki, Finland and is extremely hardy. It will survive to -33° and not show damage to buds. It has dark green glossy, coarse foliage with a deep dark pink to light red flower color. the size is 7x7’. Small H2 ‘HOLDEN’ Compact and rounded with rose red flowers that bloom mid-late.4x5’ in ten years. Small H1 ‘OLGA MEZZITT’ This little leaf Rhodo is an upright grower with bronze-copper fall and winter color. The flowers are a nice clear pink color. It will grow to about 4x3’ in 10 years. Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association Plant Award Small H1 ‘PJM’ The upright rounded habit with nice lavender flowers and small dark green leaves that turn burgundy in the fall and winter has made this one the standard of the little leaf types. Small H1 ‘PJM ELITE’ This compact upright grower has excellent lavender flowers that open the latest of all the ‘PJM’ types. Upright H1 ‘PURPLE PASSION’ This upright rounded cultivar has dark violet flowers and lusterous dark green foliage. 4x5’ in 10 years. Medium H2 ‘SCINTILLATION’ This upright spreading selection has dark green glossy leaves and pink flowers. Yakushimanum Cary Award - Worcester County (Mass) Horticultural Society Small H1 ‘KEN JANECK’ This very small growing,compact selection will attain only 3x4’ in 10 years.
