CARMINE RED' This medium-sized, broad shrub has roundish leaves
that turn yellow in fall. The flowers are large, bronze at tips, red
at base with the calyx interior a wine-red. Late flowering usually sometime
in March.

DIANE’ This selection was made by
de Belder and has a great fall color of intense yellow and scarlet red. The flowers are a ruby-red color with the calyx violet inside. They appear in early February. It is one of the best red flowering forms available.
'
FEUERZAUBER' This medium sized shrub has large fragrant flowers that are coppery-orange and overlaid with red and then twisted. In the fall the leaves are yellow adding a great two-season interest. It has been around since 1958 and is finally becoming more available.
JELENA' This large shrub has a nice orange, bronze, scarlet,
and red fall foliage. The large flowers occurring in dense clusters
are yellow with coppery traces with the calyx interior a dark wine-red and from a distance it appears to be ablaze with orange fire. It was selected in 1937 by the
Kalmthout Arboretum, Holland, but named in 1955 by the owner
de Belder and is considered one of the best.

LUNA' This medium-sized shrub has a good yellow flower, nice
fragrance, and a good fall color. Truly a nice combination makes this a
great selection!

PRIMAVERA' Here is yet another selection from de Belder that has medium sized flowers in dense clusters of primrose-yellow with a violet interior. It flowers heavily in late January and is very fragrant. A wonderful selection that is not yet widely available but definitely a superior choice.

RUBY GLOW' This medium-sized shrub has orange, bronze, and
scarlet fall color. The flowers are medium-sized to large and coppery-red
with the calyx interior being wine-red. It blooms in late January and did quite well in the trials at the
University of Maine in Orono, which is a zone 4. Introduced
in 1946 by
Moerheim Nursery of Holland.

PALLIDA' Here is a plant that has the unique distinction of winning both the
Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Gold Medal Award and the
Cary Award proving the excellent qualities and desirability of this wonderful selection. This medium-sized shrub has ascending branches and a fall color of yellow. The flowers are medium to large and sulfur-yellow with the calyx interior wine-red and very fragrant. Blooms January- February. It is a very beautiful form that is widely planted in England. Released by
Wisley Gardens around 1935.
